Fiber Optic Infrastructure along K-177
Description
Completing a design project to propose a fiber optic network along K–177 from I–70 to the east end of the Kansas River Bridge. It is planned to have handholes at each county road along the route as a minimum and a conduit with 7 pathways. The purpose of the network is to partner with KSU and others to test connected/automated vehicle technologies and a connection to Kansas City SCOUT to allow students use of real time data. A future use as a back–up center to SCOUT could be a possibility too.
