Manhattan and Kansas State University Fiber Optic Sharing
Status
Planned
Description
Kansas State University has a fiber optic network that in many places is within the city owned right away. An agreement has been formulated allowing some dark fiber to be utilized by the city to increase it ITS network footprint. This will allow connections to some intersections that are currently isolated from the city network because of topographic or light of site issues. This allows the city to gain access to intersections and allows KSU Police and KSU Athletics access to the city's traffic management system, as part of this agreement.
